"I joined Rising Sun over a year ago and got more than I bargained for! Between Tae Kwon Do, Gumbdo and boot camp classes, I lost weight and continue to keep it off and get in shape."

"Dear Danny and Rising Sun Staff, We just wanted to send an e-mail to thank you and your staff for making Joe's party a complete success. The kids were completely engaged and enjoyed every minute. Your staff were patient, friendly and incredibly flexible, and we appreciated it very much. Thank you so much for your patience and diligence (Danny) in answering all of our (inane) questions in the lead-up to the party. Your quick replies were very helpful and appreciated, enabling us to make decisions and preparations with minimal concern. In short, you helped us make Joe's day a memorable one, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend your birthday parties to anyone who asked. We already had one of the guest's parents ask us if we would "mind" if they copied our idea, a testament to the great experience you provide. Thank you again, and we wish you and your staff a warm holiday season and success in 2014. Sincerely, Ross and Mizuho Lucas"

"I first came into Rising Sun four years ago as a parent. It only took me a couple of months of sitting in the viewing area before I realized that I was on the wrong side of the glass. Rising Sun has become a huge part of my life ever since. I come here knowing I will walk out not even remembering what was on my mind on my way in the door. The classes I participate in provide me with the opportunity to stay fit, exercise my mind, and feel good about myself. And not only has this become my place of physical fitness, but the friendships I have made and the family-like camaraderie between me and my fellow students has also nested a good home in my heart. The club has also provided my son with the ability to mature and grow in an environment that encourages confidence, respect, courage and so much more! I often can hear the Master saying "just do your best", and isn't that all we can ask from ourselves in life? These are life-skills being taught at the dojang, not just a sport. I have seen my son mature into a responsible, self-disciplined, and caring young man over the past four years. And I sincerely believe that the practice of Taekwondo, and the people at Rising Sun, whether they are instructors or fellow students, had a definite role in his personal and physical development, as well as my own."

"Thank you very much for hosting a fabulous 9th birthday party for Lisa. It was very organised, well run and so much fun for everyone. The facilities were perfect for easy access to washrooms, kitchen, and play/training area. The structure and timing of the party was perfect. I could not have asked for a better venue for a party and would highly recommend Rising Sun to friends and family for both classes and parties! Thank you for being so fun and knowledgeable and for making a party here so enjoyable! Ps. Special thanks to Andre and Luke for all their help with the kids and their demonstrations."

"If one is contemplating Tae Kwon Do training I would encourage them to start with attending the 'Grading' ceremony. It is here that the true desideratum can be realized. The culmination of weeks and sometimes months of perseverance is showcased in an event that reinforces the magnitude of the contrivance that has taken place. As a grandfather of three from four children, I took particular notice of the parents who attended in support of their young progenitors. In my estimation they should receive special recognition for supporting what is truly a life changing experience. In speaking with one father we jointly recalled how much his son had progressed. From the 'fly buzzing around the light bulb' this boy had now become focused and attentive. He was learning discipline and personal development that will imprint on his character throughout his life. To the parents who personally participate with their children I have nothing but praise and admiration. I sense a unique strengthening of respect and approbation that is lacking in todays society. Becoming a student with your child and working together to achieve similar goals is inspiring. I remain ambivalent as to whether it is not the parent who gains much more from the experience than their progeny. As a participant today revelling in the ambiance of the past evening I have just one regret. I wish that I had found Tae Kwon Do and in particular the Rising Sun much earlier in life. When I mentioned this to Master Mike he wisely put things in their proper prospective. It's never too late for anything!"

"My daughter expressed an interest in martial arts, and asked me if she could start taking tae kwon do. I agreed and she joined Rising Sun 18 months ago. I would take her to classes 2-3 times and week, and sit and watch. One day, one of the instructors asked me why I was not in class with my daughter. I said that I could never do the things she was learning, and having just come through a major life changing event, I was not mentally or physically in any shape to try a new activity. The instructors challenged me to try the classes for one week, and if it was not for me, nothing would be lost. The classes were hard, and the patterns confusing, but I stuck with it, and have now been training for over 1 year. I have earned 3 belts, and am physically and mentally in much better shape than I was a year ago. Having an activity that I do with my daughter is great. We encourage each other and celebrate our successes. The people at Rising Sun are what makes the experience. I have met some great new friends, and continue to improve. The quality of instructors is top notch, and I would invite anyone to give it a try."

"Rising Sun Martial Arts has been a pleasant surprise; I came looking for exercise with a purpose and I have been captivated by the science and sport. The members both young and old accept you immediately and you find yourself being swept up into a warm and friendly family that demands nothing in return. You manage your business astutely and deliver a product that is hard to find anywhere else. My compliments to you and Master Mike."
